ECI conducts comprehensive training for ROs and AROs ahead of Bihar assembly elections

New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) The Election Commission of India conducted a two-day training program for Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) for the Bihar Legislative Assembly elections and bye-elections, held on October 9 and 10, the poll panel said in a press note today, asserting that a total of 243 ROs and 1418 AROs participated in the virtual program.
The training included an online assessment and doubt-clearing session on the nomination process, ensuring that ROs and AROs are well-prepared for the elections. National Level Master Trainers clarified doubts and provided guidance on various aspects of election conduct.
Key highlights of the training program Included:
-Online Assessment and Doubt-Clearing Session: ROs and AROs participated in an online assessment and doubt-clearing session to ensure their preparedness for the elections.
-Presiding Officer Module: The ECI briefed District Election Officers (DEOs) and ROs on the Presiding Officer module of ECINet, which enables Presiding Officers to upload voter turnout data on a two-hourly basis and at the close of polls.
-Trial Run: A trial run of the Presiding Officers application will be conducted at all polling stations before the poll to ensure smooth execution.
-Comprehensive Coverage: The training program covered various aspects of election conduct, including nomination process, qualification and disqualification, Model Code of Conduct (MCC), withdrawal of candidature, symbol allotment, poll-day arrangements, and counting.
The ECI's efforts aim to ensure the smooth conduct of the Bihar Legislative Assembly elections and bye-elections, leveraging technology to enhance transparency and efficiency.
